my wife got a photo frame as a cristmas gift and I am loading photos to it using picassa and it works great resizing them to 800 x 600. now I also have thousands of photos on an external hard drive and there is a lot of them I want to copy to viewer but cannot do it with picassa because picassa does not see it, is there any software that will do it without having to do them one at a time

I use Irfanview as my System default viewer and basic Image Editor ... It's not a Browser/Organizer.
I prefer to know where my pics are and not depend on a Browser/Organizer .. And do it manually.
I have too many pics in several internal HDDs and several externals (backups)

I'd just select the pics I want and Copy/Paste (Drag/Drop) them to a working folder on my Desktop.
Then I'd batch process them (in Irfanview) to a new size and send them to the Photo Frame.

You should be able to use Picasa .. Once the pics are in a working folder on your Desktop.

In Picasa if you go to Tools>>Folder Manager you should be able to locate the drive letter of the external drive, open it and select a top tier folder (or you can select the whole drive as well) containing the photos and tell Picasa to scan for photos.

If they are in a format not being recognized by Picasa, back to Tools>>Options and see if the format is included under the File Types tab and add them if it is.
