I'm a newbie in 7. I downloaded the Norton Removal Tool which is supposed to be on my desktop. Couldn't find it, so I downloaded it again. Then I got the message the first one is running--although I have not run the setup yet. Can anyone tell me where I can find it? :D

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

maybe you selected "run" instead of "save" when the downloader came up?

if not, check your favorites > downloads

I did, but how do I stop it from running so I can do the setup?

Its amazing how many Windows issues can be solved by a simple restart of the PC....sometimes two...

I restarted the computer--because an update had finished downloading, so it solved the problem temporarily. In the meantime I downloaded the Norton Removal Tool to my xp, and then copied it to a thumb drive. The tool on my xp opened up on its own; it still hasn't opened up on the 7. It's in the downloads folder, but it has yet to appear on the desktop as a running program. I'm thinking about using Revo Uninstaller to take out Norton. But I'll leave that for later.

Thanks for the input! Muchas Gracias.
