I hope this isn't viewed as "hijacking", but I used this advice and similar advice to combat my invasion and I've had good but not perfect results annd I thought this would be a good place to get some advice. I'm running windows2000. I could not copy more than one file into killbox. Instead I used search to locate and hand delete files. I couldnot delete oleadm.dll, and I skipped the olevbs. Everything else I had was deleted. I used HJT as recomended, and it worked. I also installed Microsoft Anitspy, which requires authorization to chnge home page and such. Wp turned otu to be what was responsible for the blue error screen. Everything is back to normal except:
1) I still have a red icon in the system tray that sends up messages that my computer's infected. I know YOUR'E the infection. I could not locate a *.bmp for the icon. Clicking on it sends you to PSGuard. I'm guessing this is from the ole files. Ole32vbs.exe was modified at time of invasion. Should I just delete it (I can)?
2) This is a used computer and the default seach assistant was regular google, which I liked because I'd open a new window. How do I get it back? Custimize doesn't work. I could just open a new window anyway, and I have made Google my home page, and set up shortcuts to other home pages.
Well, there you go. I'd like to thanl you and all the other forums that gave this advice. I wasted time trying out different anti-virus, and none did more than AVG which warned me of the invasion. Here's a current HJT log if it helps:

I've been able to answer my own question. The problem was intel32.exe. I found out what the HJT codes stood for, i.e. R# is for IE settings. O4 are programs loaded at startup and the icon in the tray was losed at startup I knew that was the place to look. I was able to find a database of common 04 entries (good and bad) linked at merjin/HJT, which is where I found out what the codes stood for. This was not in there. I skipped ot and deleted the ole*.exe which didnot help o hurt. Finally I did a search on intel32 and it came up with the icon! I may seen that one yesterday when I was going through files looking for anything suspiceous, but that looked legit. Well all I did was take it out with HJT and now its fixed. In the future I'll no where to look.

There's some stuff I want to clean off because I don't need it hogging resources but otherwise everything is okay. On the plus side I'm starting to get acquainted with the innards of windows. I downloaded msconfig so I can do some more housekeeping.
