Alright so i'm trying to setup a DHCP server in a test sandbox type environment and clients don't seem to be receiving IP addresses.

I can look on the server and see that it is giving out IP addresses to each of the clients so i know that the server is recieving the requests, i also ran wire shark on one of the clients and i see a discover an offer and requests, and the offer has the correct ip information that has been assigned to this client from the DHCP server but the client does not assign it to itself and i can't for the life of me figure out whats going wrong.

i hope that someone with more knowledge then me can figure this out.

if you need anymore info to help you out let me know. Thank you

    Edit:
i forgot to mention my setup. The Server is Server 2008 Enterprise, the clients are all windows 7 enterprise except for an ipad
the server is a VM and one of the clients is a VM running on the same host box.
one of the clients is a laptop
one of the clients is an IPAD
one of the clients is a Desktop

the server is also running AD, it's a domain control and it's running DNS

    the network
the server and one client are running on a single host machine connected witlessly to a router.
    the latop is wireless
    the desktop is wired

DHCP on the router has been shutoff

The servers host hardware and the server both have statically signed IP addresses.

I figured it out. it was because the scope was configured to use NAP. i guess this is something new with server 08? anyways i don't need it in this situation so i just shut it off but does anyone know of a good informational link about setting up NAP to work properly? i did a google search and couldn't really find anything good on it.

    Thanks
