    Hi Guys

You have helped me out for years but I now find that I cannot access your site using firefox (my preferred web browser) it causes firefox to crash

I have a load of things to ask but will not address them until your site will load in FF

any advice on this would be greatly appreciated

    Jon

    The latest version FF 2.0.0.14

Strangely I have found that if I turn off my AVG the initial page loads fine but if I try to go anywhere else it crashes FF

It may just be AVG then, but I haven't heard of any other users complaining about AVG interfering with Firefox.

Hi skinnywhiteboy sorry I didn't acknowledge you directly

I am thinking the same thing but as I said by turning off AVG I can access the front page of the forums but any links beyond that crash FF instantly, I think I will reinstall Avast

Try clearing all private data in Firefox, exit the browser, and then try again.

    Hmm I am making progress

Your site loads fine when using firefox in safe mode which points to one of the plugins possibly causing a conflict

Do you have a lot of plugins. Try disabling them manually.

Yes I have removed most of them but still it crashes, I have just tried installing firefox 3 beta 5 and that works fine it is strange that it only seems to affect techguy.org all the other websites I normally goto work fine perhaps there is something on this page that ff doesn't like

I think I will leave it for now there is a problem with my setup somewhere so I will at a later date reinstal windows from scratch and take it from there, for now I will just use ff 3 beta 5 it seems pretty stable and is much quicker, thanks for your help so far, I do appreciate it

    Hi all :)

I have solved the problem with firefox crashing on your and various other sites

It was indeed one of the plugins that was causing the problem, specifically the firebug plugin unfortunately I do not know the reason it causes firefox to crash on certain sites perhaps one of the experts here might like to look into it
