Under my list of processes running on my Windows Me desktop are the following two entries which I cannot find any information on:

    S5m0pbjznkw7
    and
    45kll7puvfthd

Never heard of these and I don't know what to do about them...

Definitely processes that are up to no good.

You don't have a firewall running?

Have you run a full virus scan with updated definitions?

    Run this online one

Have you run a check for malware with SpyBot?

I didn't have a firewall when I got these Lol.
The computer is not online and I have been trying to run spybot but before I can get much done at all I get the error message "Explorer has encountered an error <unknown> and needs to be closed. If this error continues, restart your computer" However, after pressing ok, I get a blank screen.

    eek.

    Download, install and run HijackThis

Copy/paste the created LOG file back here in a reply post for review.

That's what I've been trying to get ahold of. *sigh* I have been trying to transfer HijackThis to my desktop for a while now. Can't get it there. Think I'm just gonna have to reformat and start over.

How are you trying to transfer it?

And, when you do, what is happening that is stopping it?

by disk. the system doesn't stay running long enough for me to get to it :\ It'd be a lot easier but the system also isn't recognizing new hardware and i don't have my old mouse anymore so i can't use the one i have now because it wasn't recognized by the computer. So I'm doing everything with the keyboard

Start the PC in Safe Mode and then try running HJT.

Already reformatted. That was going to be the end result anyway. I mostly just wanted to know for my own education what might be done. Got impatient with the machine and just reformatted :D
