I have a dell dimension e520 desktop and the dell website shows a newer version of the chipset driver and it shows urgent. Do I need to uninstall the old chipset driver first and then install the newer version? Or should I not bother even though it shows urgent.

Unless you are having issues, no need to update, although Dell makes it very simple to do so

Hi Old Rich, thanks for replying. I am not having any issues other than my wife is trying to make a movie using the xp movie maker and it keeps freezing all the time on her. I dont think that the chipset has anything to do with that anyways. Any ideas why she is having so much of a problem with the movie maker?

How much memory?? Rendering a movie can take a lot of horsepower! Be sure no other programs are running while rendering.

Looks marginal for rendering . . should do ok with nothing else running. You might have to rutn the antivirus off ( be sure and disconnect from thei nternet
