Solved: upgraded to new video card but having poroblems

    my system freezes starting almost any decent/higher end game ibought this video card so i can play oblivion i have upgraded from ATI Radeon 8500 to NVIDIA GeForce 6200(XFX) 256MB DDR2 AGP8X which is specially listed on the elder scrolls oblivion website

    I bought a new video card juss to play oblivion but when im starting up the game to the point of making your your character my system freezes, maybe my monitor(compaq TRINITRON/VGA/CRT) is not compatible with my video card or motherboard please someone plz help me?

    SYSTEM SPECS:
    Pentium4 2.4GHz
    ASUS P4S533-X
    NVIDIA GeForce 6200(XFX)which i dunt know what it means 256MB DDR2 AGP8X
    512DDR and 256DDR
    SoundMax

    What memory do you have in the PC?

    How did the game play before you replaced the graphics card ?

    Installed the drivers fot the Vid card that came with it already?

    I have one 512DDR and one 256DDR i have installed the driver it came with VER, 82.65Z2

    Go the Nvidias website , download the latest driver 93.71.
    also you should have gone with a better video card the 6200 isn't that much of an improvement , XFX is the manufacturer of the card.

    Iwill download 93.71 but I heard omegadrivers have some special drivers for ATI and NVIDIA but theres a disclaimer, is it a risk to intall their drivers and whats so special bout there drivers?

    i have unintalled video card drivers rebooted and installed 93.71 the games work for 15 secs longer but thats about it, its still crashing

    I have distant land off settings no bloom its as low as they will let me

    Does the Video card work if you are not trying to play a game?

    Also take a look here EventViewer

    Go Start>>Run type eventvwr.msc and look in System and Applications for any events about the same time usually with red X beside it....click on the event and read what it says and if it has a blue hyper link click on that for more info

    video card works without playing games im running 32 bit coulour

    Have you cleaned out the PC of dust lately and all all the fans working .

    How big is your Powersupply in that PC?
