    Dear all

I've discovered from a previous post i had that any images that I upload or post become corrupted (See here)

I have tried various things from uploading to a different site other than here - still the same problem.

I have also tried saving the image in different formats before uploading but still no joy (jpg, gif and bmp).

I have tried different images, yada yada... !

However, viewing these images on my pc shows that the files are absolutely fine before uploading. Also, the files are ok after uploading. It is just the uploaded versions that become corrupted!

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

I am running windows 98 and have saved images using both IrfanView, PaintShop Pro 7 and Windows Paint.

    Many thanks

I don't have any idea, but since nobody else has responded yet, I'll say I sent there and looked and only the top part of the picture shows. Even when I copied/pasted the direct link to it myself.

I wonder how big the pictures are? How much resolution?

Maybe there is a limit to what you can attach? So only part of it is getting attached?

Someone from here will have to answer this.

I am just totally guessing. I usually save pictures at 74 resolution and 5-6" width, maybe even smaller to post here.

Sometimes they need to be big to show details.

    Thanks for the replies.

Starchild - thanks for the suggestion - I had checked the file size and the limit for Tech Support Guy is shown to be 204800 bytes and my pic size is much less than this.
Also, as I have the same problem when I uploaded to my own webspace, I don't think it could be this - but thanks for the idea though.

Hewee - thanks for your reply too - I have just checked and am able to send a mail to myself (using outlook express 5) with the pics attached, and can view this fine when they arrive back in my mailbox.

(NB: as before, I tried this for jpg and gif versions of the file, but still no joy)

Did you want me to email a pic to you?

    Thanks again

Have you tried to upload the origonal image to TSG, and then use the" img src" code to make it show? Then we can at least see if the image is transfering correctly and go from there. Hard to find much info on this problem, but I'll keep looking :)...Rhett

    hi rhettman,

I'll try this now, although i think this is what RandyG had tried already in this post

    --

I'll attach the file to this post and then do a secondary img src test..

test image as per previous post...

    <img src="http://forums.techguy.org/attachment.php?postid=939805">

As can be seen, the problem is still occurring.

I have tested with another image that I have had on my computer for a while (one that I haven't created myself) and the problem still occurs.

Seems like they site is saying that you uploaded your image before the upload finish.

Have you talked to the the web site to see what they have to say?

    Hi Hewee,

Sorry if I've got the wrong end of the stick with what you're saying, but because this is happening with uploads to any site i've tried so far (ie my own webspace and also uploads to TSG) I don't think it is an external site issue?

    What do you think?

Ok you are right then if your having trouble at more the one site.

Something is stopping your uploads from loading all the way.

Can you use and program to upload with?
So if you are using IE then try Netscape or another to see what happens.

This came up in a search....there was no helpful answer for him
either.....or I would have posted that as well. Just thought you
might see things he tried, that did not help.

Having just changed to NTL BROADBAND Iv'e since discovered
Uploaded Photographs arrive at the destination (EBAY) highly
    corrupted.

Prior to using NTL Broadband, Not One of several hundred
photographs, had even a hint of corruption

Taking advice from NTL I have: Removed my firewall,(Zonelabs)
Formatted the HDD FOR A CLEAN INSTALL of Windows Millenium.
(NO CHANGE) Then formatting the HDD several more times to
clean install Windows XP, Windows 98, all of which produced NO
CHANGE. The photographs still arrive corrupted.

    Thankyou both for your suggestions.

I tried Sekirt's first as this struck a cord with me --- I am using NTL's Broadband service myself and this seemed a little too much like coincidence that the user was having the same problem.

I found that post in google and other people had said they were having the problem. Anyway, I re-searched on Google adding the keyword of ntl and found other posts, etc, with suggestions.

    Here is the first suggestion..

This suggested that I need to change my proxy server as mine is having problems at the minust (?)
I wasn't using a proxy server, but went into their list of proxies for NTL and added this to my internet settings, and as you can see below, this has resulted in my pic now uploading correctly.

It seems as if this issue has now been resolved.... I would never have guessed that in a million years!

Thanks for your help though, it is all appreciated
