Hey,

I'm planning on getting a 200gb HDD .
Can my current Asus P45533-X motherboard be able to support it or even detect it ?
The new HDD I'm planning on getting called PAPA(not so sure).

Please advice me.Thanks

I am going to go out on a limb and guess you meant PATA, which stands for Parallel ATA or what used to be and still is termed UATA or EIDE. If your board has IDE controllers then yes it will support this drve If by going out on a limb I guessed wrong then OOOOOOPS!

I've checked my motherboard stats and it stated there something about SiS PCI IDE Controller, therefore I think my motherboard has it.Also,my current HDD also has an IDE tag beside it.I'm not so good with all of this motherboard thing :D So,do you think that the P-ATA is better?

P-ATA is the same thing as IDE. S-ATA is Serial IDE or Serial ATA. If your motherboard doesnt have controllers for Serial ATA the only way you are goingto be able to go that route is to buy and install a PCI Serial ATA controller.

So In essence your system can use the P-ATA Hard Drive.

Ah,I see thank you very much.Heh,I've just bought a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 HDD. Now,are there any websites teaching how to install the new HDD.Actually,a friend of me bought it for me and is flying home tonight,so I'm hoping I could learn a few before trying to install it.
