A serial number will do you no good. You need the Windows 7 25 character Product Key on the COA sticker.

What's the model number and series number of that laptop?

What's the serial number on it?

Which country do you live in?

Recovery media may be available for it, but it has to be properly identified first.

The Germany support site is non-English, so I'm unable to navigate through it.

Go here and enter the serial number for that laptop.

Note: The laptop's serial number and the COA product key are NOT the same numbers.

Which version of Windows 7 came pre-installed in that laptop and is listed on the COA sticker?

    Starter
    Home Basic
    Home Premium
    Professional
    Enterprise
    Ultimate

    Was it 32-bit or 64-bit?

    That's about $47.00 in U.S. dollars.

You're welcome, and good luck. (y)

You can get a free copy of Windows 7 from here: Windows 7 ISO downloads select and download the version of Windows 7 that you require.

If you have downloaded the ISO on a Windows 7 PC right click the ISO file, select Open With, then select Windows Disc Image Burning Tool then follow the prompts.

For PC's using other versions of Windows you must burn the ISO image to a DVD using an ISO image burner, copying the ISO to a DVD will not work, if you do not have an ISO burner download this free software and follow the instructions below to burn the disc.ImgBurn When you install ImgBurn make sure you uncheck any boxes offering bundled software.

Install the program and start the application. Select the top left hand option to burn image file to disk and then on the next window click on the small yellow folder icon and browse to the ISO file you wish to burn. Then click on the two grey discs with the arrow in between (bottom left) and leave it to complete the operation.

    ==================================

Once you have made the DVD you can do a clean install of Windows without getting all the junk and free trial software that is included on the Recovery discs from the manufacturer. You just then need to check in Device Manager that there are no missing drivers, if there are you can get them from the manufacturer's site.

    24208 is for Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 32-bit (x86).

    24209 is for Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit (x64).
