I wanted to double check with you guys.

I ordered a Dell Inspiron 531 along with a GeForce video card. Well, today I recived the video card in the mail and I read the minimun system requirements for installing the video card are 350watts. The Inspiron 531 only has a 300watt supply...Does this mean I'm going to have problems? When I made the purchase via telephone the sales rep said it should be fine...

    Thanks in advance,

Chances are it will run most of the time. The PSU rating is only for peak loading. SO, if yo uintend playing game,s theres a good chance it will cop out as soon as you start actually doing something.
So short answer, if you want to do anything that is not video intensive, yo uhave a reasonable chance of it probably working, if you want to do anything else, its probably best to get a new PSU.
As for the sales rep, if you bought both items at the same time, from the same place, it would seem you probably have grounds to get a refund on one or both items- if you ask a question and get a false reply, thats not legal. :)

    Thank you for the reply,
Thats what I figured. I sent an email to Dell customer care regarding this issue. Hence, if anything fishy starts to happen I will send this puppy back like a hot potato.
Then I'll try it out and see what happens.

    Thanks again

Okay, Dell customer care replied from the email I sent them. They stated that the video card and the computer are compatiable... I'm just not sure.
