Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

Please move hijackthis.exe into a permanent folder.

To create a permanent folder click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar click on File, New, Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis". Now you have C:\HJT\ folder.
Put your HijackThis.exe into that folder.

Run HijackThis and click Open the Misc Tools section
  • Click Open Uninstall Manager
  • Save list
  • click on the Desktop icon or select to save the list on the desktop
  • then click save.

Open the file and copy/paste the contents back here in your next reply.

Go to Add/Remove Programs and remove:
SpywareBot 1.5

Download and run this uninstaller:
http://www.outerinfo.com/OiUninstaller.exe

Restart the machine after those two things.

Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
  • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
  • Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

I'm able to get to this point and it seems that SUPER AntiSpyware is getting hung up on a file (An old game file that was removed a while back). It sat on it for 5 minutes and would not progress, I rebooted to get out. Is this normal or is there any way around it?

I guess I don't understand. How can it get hung up on something that has been removed?

My wording was a bit off, I used the un-installer to remove the game a while back but some files are still left behind (Beta type games sometimes dont remove all the files), I cannot get the AntiSpyware to scan past one file of the game, so I excluded it from the search. The logs are listed below. Thanks again for all your help..

SpywareBot is on the rogue list! I would not use it!! Look in the links below and find some good tools to use. :)

You can remove all of the tools I requested you to download and/or folders associated with them now. It is pointless to keep these tools around as they are updated so frequently that the tools can be outdated within a few days, sometimes within just hours.

OTMoveIt by OldTimer has a CleanUp! option you can use to remove most of the fixes and associated files and folders if you want to use that. If you get a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTMoveIt attempting to contact the internet you should allow it to do so. Also remove OTMoveIt.

SUPERAntiSpyware is a trial version so you can keep that until the trial is over and then uninstall.

It's a good idea to Flush your System Restore after removing malware:
Turn off system restore and then turn it back on: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310405
