Solved: virus sending emails

    :(currently i am using yahoo for my emails and home page.my friends are telling me they are receiving suspect emails from me but i not sending them at the times they have said.i did a full system check with my Avast-Antivirus and it came up that there had been one folder with a virus but that it had cleaned it up?any ideas on how i can stop these emails going out?thanks for any help.:)
    i am running windows 7.

    it is unlikely that it is due to anything on your computer
    Yahoo was recently hacked & thousands, if not millions of users had their email accounts hacked and sent spam.
    All you can do is log into Yahoo email & change password & hope that Yahoo eventually fix the problem that they are denying even exists

    but to be double safe, you might want to start a new topic in Malware cleaning & follow advice here and post the logs those programs make

    Very true what Derek stated, as my son's Yahoo mail was doing the same thing. He did all the scans with Avast, Malwarebytes, and SuperAntiSpyware and all came up clean. He changed his password and all has been fine. I'm pretty sure this has happened in the past with Yahoo as the same scenario happened to me a year or so ago. To be on the safe side, take Derek's advice.
