Solved: Vista software compatability - Office 2000

    Will my copy of Microsoft Office 2000 Professional install and function properly on new computers running Windows Vista OS?

    Yes, but there may be an issue with Outlook. Vista has a security feature that interrupts Outlooks access to the address book (God save us from Bill trying to make his OS secure!)

    The older versions of Outlook (pre 2007) uses Windows Address Book, and Vista won;t allow Older versions of Outlook to access it, so it pops up a remionder every few minutes. It's recommended to upgrade to Outlook 2007 or use windows Mail that comes with Vista.

    Using Mail, Calendar and Address Book in Vista is acceptable for almost all home use, but is a little limited in setting appointments and color coding, etc.

    but Excel, Word, etc work fine!
