Solved: Vista Ultimate and IE8 aggravation

    My OS is Vista Ultimate svc2 32bit - I use IE8 as my browser and log on and off many times a day. Usually, when opening my browser the pictures are missing (x in the box) until I either refresh the page or close and reopen the browser - then everything is fine - Why?

    have seen java update alert boxes and clicked to update each time, but have never seen flash or shockwave update requests - thought it all happened automatically???

    Hi I would go to adobe's site and update both just to rule it out

    BTW, thanks for the welcome and for your help - did the updates and still had the same boxes with X's this morning ???

    Hi you can try running ie 8 with no add ons and see how it behaves or try a reset in ie 8 go to tools internet options then advanced and reset
