I use Windows med player a lot and so have the volume on. When using my PC with the music playing I have the irritation of loud bleeps when i'm opening and closing certain windows and applications. How do I isolate these so I can hear WMP at the volume I want but have silence otherwise? (I am already using the separate volume control on WMP to the max.)
    Help would be much appreciated.

Hi and welcome....go into the control panel, sounds, and remove the sounds from those programs.

On the lower right hand side of your computer you should see a speaker. Click on it and mute the source of your beeps. If the beeps are in the same format as your music then you cannot mute them.

Excellent. My irritation levels have subsided considerably.

Did you mute or delete the associated sounds?

Removed. For the sound events (control panel-sounds and multimedia)that were bothering me i changed the default eg Musica Close to none. I'd tried muting the different facets of the volume control opened via speaker previously but could not separate WMP from other noises.

    Thanks
