We are using Win2000 Server and Win2000 desktops with HP 5Si printers. I had to download an updated driver (hp 5SI PCL 5e) to be able to see the option for watermarks.
From the Server, where I had to initially install the driver, I can edit and print watermarks via the printer options (software doesn't matter, but it was NotePad).
From the desktops, we can change the watermarks, but the edit button is greyed out. Also, watermarks do not print out.

Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on this?

    Thanks

    Hiya

Been looking at this one for some time. Have you tried installing the driver onto the Desktops to see if it would work?

It seems as if the User's options are not allowed to access the Editing and Printing. Have you logged on as Administrator to see if its the User's problem?

Also, as I am just getting into Win2000, the server has certain snap-ins that aren't installed on the Pro version. Have you tried using the MMC to add the snap-in that is used on the server?

    Regards

    eddie

I finally got an aswer from HP, but since I was heading out of town, I didn't have time to reply here.

As Eddie said, I had to load the drive as an lpt1 printer. Then change the printer to my network printer. This allows me to make those watermark changes. Logging in as Admin wasn't the answer, but I'll also check into snap-ins.

    Thanks Eddie
