Hi telecom69

Right click on the folders and click properties

Look at the date the folders were created and look at any names to see if anything is familiar to you.

I would just delete them, unless you're sure of the source.
If there's any chance that they're junk mail, then you haven't lost anything. If they are from someone you know well, just call them and ak if they sent something on that date.

Better safe than infected.

I would rather prefer to take an AntiVirus software take care of this rather an deleting it myself. It is better to let expert and specialists handle a job rather than do it yourself.

If you don't have a AV software already, go to http://www.grisoft.com and download AVG. Its free.

Hi telecom69

I wouldn't try and open them

Do an on-line virus

http://housecall.trendmicro.com

or here

http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/

and if that comes up negative - post your startup list

If you post your startup list we may be able to spot something

Please post your startup list by doing the following :-

Please go here and download startuplist 1.51 :-

http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/startuplist151.zip

Download to any folder or your desktop
Unzip the zipfile
Double click the exe file
go to Edit - select all - copy - and paste the results in a new post here

i WOULDNT delete them- did a search of my pc and i have all the ones you have and them some-
the fun and greetings cat are in the easy cd creator folder-
you have /had easy cd, yes?
they are dbase files or ms security files-
you get the error mesage when you click on a dbase file that windows assumes is an ms security file
