    Buying a new desktop.
Multi-tasking multitasking and more multitasking goin on.
Lookin for something that can handle graphics intensive programs.
and hope to play with video editing.

Please list the actual programs and games you intend to play as well as a budget. What things will you be multi-tasking between, what are these "big programs"?

For example Solitaire is a game but requires very little in terms of performance, The Sims needs a mediocre graphics card, but Crysis 2 on the other hand needs a really high-end graphics card and a very powerful processor. Also do you wish to buy a pre-built machine or build it yourself?

For a game like Crysis two you will need a high end system. Also when considering what type of graphics card you want to use remember what resolution and screen size you will be using. If on the other hand it's only google earth, the on cpu graphics in most 2012 intel based chips will be enough.

You should tell us what your budget is, if you are building it yourself and what country you live in as well as what you will be using it for. The more info you give us the better the guys in the forum can help.

Why would you figure up Google Earth or another program while playing Crysis?

But you still haven't provided a budget which will determine what kind of hardware you can afford.

you should plan on spending at least
    1500.00 dollars or 1200 euros.?
this is for parts --- build yourself
computer companies try to keep their costs
    down by using cheap parts.

High end or fast and smooth video editing and gaming will not happen very well on a $500 machine.

    HP Pavilion Elite HPE-180t
    and the
    Apple iMac

My main issue has been I'm always getting warning about "virtual memory is low"
And I'm not really running much in the way of programs.

AND the recovery disk memory comes up full and then more warnings pop up
And Ive been told that it's not a good idea to tamper with that
