Just received an email from a friend with a link, which I assumed was OK. It turned out to be a link to a USA work from home spam mail. It looks like it has use dall her stored email addresses.

    Question is

How would she be able to stop this happeneing again? I assume it is soembody backboning off her PC or soemthing like that.

    Many thanks.

I don't think it's being backboned; it sounds like someone spoofed her email address and is using it for spam. That happened to me a few months ago; I didn't find out until I started getting emails from friends wondering what was up.

How long has it been happening?

Only just happened this morning. I haven't got back to her yet. Just wanted to see if I can offer advice to her. She has a BTinternet.com email address.

I normally associate this sort of thing, with people who have a hotmail account.

lately it's been a lot of gmail as well.

If she's sweating it, have her join and open a thread in malware. One of the gurus there will verify that her rig is not compromised.
