Solved: What processor do i have?

    i have an asus k50ij(best buy) and i want to upgrade to one of the new intel ones. wich ones will work the intell corei3, 5, or 7. and wich specific one to pick(will any of them work?)

    None of those processors will work.

    This is a budget laptop. Use it for what it was intended for. This isn't a number-cruncher.

    Is There any kind of proccesor I can upgrade to? I'm only running 2GHz

    The clock speed is only one measure of a processor's performance. The raw Ghz number by itself doesn't mean anything. That laptop doesn't support the new processor architecture.

    Laptop processors can rarely be upgraded, and if they can, the performance increase is very minimal. The labor to do so is intensive since you have to rip the entire thing apart. A faster processor could also generate excessive heat which at best would shorten the life of the laptop and at worse physically damage it.

    If your laptop isn't up to the tasks you need it to be, you'll have to replace it.
