I've researched the existing posts and Google, and found a wide variety of answers on this one.

Spybot came up with several hits of backweb. I think it slipped by with a new Logitech cordless mouse install on my laptop. (I'm running XP.) Some say that it is no big deal; others say it's trojan with all capital letters. May inclination is to zap it through Spybot, but I'm a little anxious because I came across two people complaining that their mouse would not work right after they did.

Does anyone have a definitive take on backweb? Should I zap via Spybot, uninstall via another method, or just not worry about it? (Btw, I've made sure it's not in msconfig sys startup.)

    Thanks!

It's looking to see that you have the current software for the mouse. IMO you don't need it but some people like it. If you want to remove it I suggest doing it via add/remove programs.

If you're not freaked out by it, then I won't be either. Thanks!
