I notice that the Xirrus Wi-Fi inspector posts seem always to show a vendor name for each of the wireless networks displayed.

On my system it lists "Unknown" for both my primary home router (actually a cisco/linksys EA6500) and the weaker signal from a TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND located in a trailer about 75 yards away.

Just as a matter of curiosity can anyone tell me why these are unknown when others are known?

(I sometimes see a few even weaker signals... not sure whether I have ever seen a vendor name for any of them. None happen to be visible at the moment.)

Edit: I found the answer, sorry, I should have looked harder before posting. The program has an embedded list of MAC address ranges to cross-ref to vendors. Both of these routers are fairly new models, I guess they simply have not yet made it into the list.
