    Hello.

This might seem a daft question, but I don't know which key puts my computer to "sleep"! There's not one marked expressedly as such.

I don't want it to carry out that function when pressed, but to shutdown and I've set the option for this, but still don't know which key to press.

I have an Acer Aspire 3002LC laptop- there is a little "z'" on the F4 key.

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

    Bye,
    Penny.

Not a real answer for you but Google for your laptop's home page site and see if Acer may be of help. I suspect you have to "go through" the Control Panel and then Power to see if you have any options. I assume you want the laptop to power down when not in use after a specified time in minutes that you choose. Good luck.

    Hello.

I've tried finding the laptop through Google, but can't find an actual layout of the keys. I have actually set the preference (using Control Panel, etc.) for the laptop to shutdown when I press the "sleep key", but don't know which one it is!

Thanks, anyway, for taking time to post.

    Bye,
    Penny. :)

    Hello Frank.

What a surprise, seeing you here. OK, I'll do that, thanks. I'll let you know what happens.

I did think I'd press a few keys at random.

    Woofs & tickles for Jaki.

    Bye. :)

    Hello

To let you know that I've found the combination of keys for the "sleep" function.

It is the key with "Zz" on it. :) I have to depress "Fn" and then "Zz" and away she goes.

    Bye,
    Penny.
