i just edited the setup to optimized settings rather than the stantard i used to use, save and exited then when the computer restarted, nothing showed up on my monitor. like totally blank. I thought it was the cable problem so i bought a new one but it still doesn't work. I tried using a different comp on the monitor and it worked so i think its not the monitor problem. I use a AMD Athlon 1 Ghz, a crappy motherboard and 64MB GeForce2 MX. I think its one of them that's busted, probably the motherboard. anyone have any suggestions for what i should try to fix it or test which part is actually busted and i should go replace. any help is appreciated. thanks

If you set the BIOS up differently and this is causing your problem, reset the BIOS with the jumper on the motherboard. This will set it back to the factory defaults.

If you can't find the jumper just remove the battery from the motherboard. Leave it out for about 15 minutes and then put it back making sure it goes back just as it came out.

thanks, that seems to work better than finding the jumper.
