Hello!

Why Windows 7 x64 doesn't remember now (it used to) in Explorer that the View I always want is Medium Icons and not Details? Actually I want that whatever View I set ONCE & Last in any Windows Explorer to be remember by Windows as the last I used the way I want it next time. Every morning I have to set up the Windows Explorer Views back again and again. Tiring...

Regards,

MAB

Thanks Phantom010,

I did the change. I'll see if Windows remember from now on.

You did check the following, right?

If you want Windows to remember Folder View settings, you have to select the Remember each folder’s view settings check box under the Advanced settings menu on the View tab of Folder Options in Control Panel.

Just looked at my wife's Windows 7 computer. She doesn't have that option either. It's on XP! That website is mistaking. Did you try the registry fixes?

Yes and even though I didn't find the option in View-> Advance Settings, the fixed seems to have worked.

One of the things that it doesn't tell you is to close and open Explorer. If you exit Windows (having changed the settings) without closing Explorer the changes will be lost.
