My daughters pc was running fine until a couple of days ago.
It will run through the POST and the ME splash at which point it goes to the screen where there are 4 choices. Normal, safe mode , ect.
I choose safe mode and the BSOD states windows protection error restart your computer.
I've tried all 4 options and the same BSOD comes up.
I ran a startup disk for ME and cd-rom to run scanreg (both check & fix) which ran without a problem.
So I shut down and start from stratch. The same BSOD.

I have been reading on the web and have found the same kind of problem but nothing as to how to fix it.

We have all up to date AVG anti-virus, Spybot, Ad Aware.

Never seem anything like this before.
I'm going to try unpluging some items and see if the might be a hardware problem but I don't think that will fix it........
    Any advice??
    Thanks
    John H

    How about Scanreg /Restore?

    1. Start your computer with the startup disk. At the MS-DOS prompt, type the following prssing Enter after each line:

    C:
    cd\windows\command
    scanreg /restore

Select the earliest date listed, press Enter. Restart the computer.
