I am having a similar problem as this fellow in the link below.
    http://forums.techguy.org/malware-r...58125-solved-firefox-search-engine-taken.html
I followed Khazars initial instructions, and have posted the appropriate logs. Initially my problem was with some malware going by title "Virus Response Lab 2009". I used Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware program to get rid of most the trouble. Unfortunately I still have a redirection to "Windiwsfsearch.com" anytime I use firefox or internet explorers search bar function. Anyway, here are those logs Khazars requested in the last post.

    Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

    I don't see any anti-virus software running.
Look in the TSG Library of Knowledge for suggestions. Some are purchased and some are free. Pick one and get your system protected.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.

    • Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    • Under Main choose: Select All
    • Click the Empty Selected button.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop. alternate link 1 alternate link 2
    • Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
    • Double-click on Download_mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
    • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
    • When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
      • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
      • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Then click Finish.
    • MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
    • On the Scanner tab:
      • Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
      • Then click on the Scan button.
    • If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
    • The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
    • When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
    • Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
    • Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
    • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)
    • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
    • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply with a new hijackthis log.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

By the way, those logs were before I added AVG virus protection, which I just did now. Thanks!

Click Start - Run - and type in:
    services.msc
    Click OK.
    In the services window find:
    PsExec (PSEXESVC)
Right click and choose "Properties". On the "General" tab under "Service Status" click the "Stop" button to stop the service. Beside "Startup Type" in the dropdown menu select "Disabled". Click Apply then OK.
    Exit the Services utility.

Follow these steps to uninstall Combofix and tools used in the removal of malware
    • Click START then RUN
    • Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK. Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

PsExec was stopped already when I opened it. My only option for buttons is to start it again.

Well, PsExec was stopped, so all I did was switch the "startup type" to "disabled". I'm assuming that is what you meant in your last post. I attempted to uninstall ComboFix but I believe it was quarantined and deleted when I used Dr. Web in a previous attempt at this malware problem, I think this is also true for SDFix which I used before. I can't find ATF Cleaner installed anywhere, which you had me use. Anytime I try to delete these programs using the "run" menu, I don't get anywhere because they can't be found.
