Failure to connect to VPN per the error below from the log...

"Set socket to non-blocking mode failed: An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket. (errno=10038)"

Support at VPN vendor suggests that a Windows repair is needed but have no disk as bought the HDD from a repair facility that lost their lease and cannot be located.

Should add that I have had a couple of blue screens lately and have run chkdsk /f and tried to do a system restore but all restore points are gone, even though I had several previously.

Sure hope there is good news somewhere.

Thanks!

Does anybody know if I can use any Win 7 disk to repair my OS or does the disk have to match my installation key? Does Microsoft offer any way to obtain a disk for Genuine installations? Any chance that Windows Update will notice the anomaly and provide a fix? You can see by these questions how desperate I am.
