i had windows xp installed on drives 'c' and 'd'. at boot up it required the selection of one of these. i replaced 'd' with a new drive and formatted it as a storage drive (not a boot drive). the boot up is still requiring me to select a system. it thinks i still have dual os. how do i eliminate the selection of the boot drives?

Post the contents of your boot.ini file. It is a hidden, read only file on the root of your boot drive; probably C. Once we see the file, we can tell you what line to delete.
