I deleted MSVCRT.DLL file in C:\Windows\Systems Directory. I found the same file in C:\Windows\Options\CABS\PWS Have been uncessfull in my attempts to correct the problem. I get this message while trying to open Windows. ERROR LOADING EXPLORER.EXE RELOAD WINDOWS. Windows will not open in the Normal or Safe Mode.
I have a Boot Disk on a Floppy and a CD. Can't get DOS to do anything other than list the files on the Boot Disk and CD. Do not have a Backup Disk or a Recovery Disk. The following applies:

    BIOS VER 4S4EB2XO.05A.0003.P02
    PENTIUM II 450 MHZ
    SYSTEM MEMORY 128
    MSDOS WINDOWS 98 VER 4.10

    Please advise!!!

    Hi and welcome to TSG.
Set the bios to boot from the floppy..press delete on start-up.
    Boot from floppy...at the a: prompt..type
dir c: [note space]this will list all files present.
Reboot from floppy..type SYS a: c: [note spaces] this will copy files from floppy.
    Next type fdisk /mbr
    Remove floppy..reboot.
If no joy..set bios to boot from Cd..and reinstall Win 98.

Thanks for your help. Corrected the problem by changing out the DVD Drive and replacing it with a CD Rom Drive I had in a old machine. Had a Recovery CD and re installed Win98.
Tech Support Guy is a great service for help.
