Am having a small problem with Windows Explorer. Everything on the menu bar works and all the icons work except the "folder views" icon. Click on it and no menu appears allowing the selection of icons, details etc. Any suggestions appreciated.

If you right-click in an empty area in the right hand pane you should get a context menu with View as the first option.

All I get when I right click in the right hand pane is the desktop context menu.

Ok, with Windows Explorer open and active press the left ALT key you should see a Menu bar with View as an option, click that and select the view you want.

There should also be a Tools option that has Folder Options under it, you can set a lot of Folder stuff there too. If you already have a folder open with the view you prefer you can make all similar folder have the same view by clicking on the Apply to folders button.

Thanks for the help, Allan. I got the problem solved. I have a total custom look to my laptop. Like to play around with .dll files and such. Well, found out in the Shell32.dll, I put a "-" where a "_" should have been and that little mistake prevented the "Views" icon from working. All is fine now.

Oh right. I'm guessing you extracted shell32.dll from a Windows DVD.

I did notice online that some theme changing software can install it's own version of Shell32.dll so that may have been the culprit.

I'm glad you got it fixed. (y)
