Hi all, I'm currently having some serious issues with my XP windows/internet Explorer. Both of them refuse to work. They come up with error message explorer.exe etc etc, and ask me if I want to send problem etc etc. So at the moment I can't access any files on my computer. exampe- I double click on My Computer and it will show the error message. It happened in the space of a few hours when I left my computer? Would it be a virus or something unrelated? Any help would be brilliant. Cheers

Most likely it was a virus/spyware. However, to repair the issue might be tricky. I dont know about doing that, hopefully someone else might.

Do you have access to the start menu?

Try starting in Safe Mode (f8 boot menu) and doing a System Restore. Start > run: msconfig > launch System Restore and choose a calendar date before the problem.

If necessary, choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt and follow these instructions:

You're welcome, System Restore is great when it works -- unfortunately that is not always the case.

I'll mark the thread "Solved" -- but for future reference this option is also available to you in the Thread Tools menu :)
