Hi,

There seems to be very little free help for computers on the web these days, and im pretty savvy when it comes to computers, but this one has me stumped. I've tried everything and still can't seem to fix my computer.

My problem is with windows installer. Any time I try to add or remove something it says that the windows installer can't be accessed. i tried checking the location of the msiexec file, and it's where its supposed to be, ive tried un registering and re registering, and ive tried removing windows installer and re installing it. i still get error messages. what else can i do?

I'm running windows xp, home edition, sp3

A number of things might go wrong with windows installer, but I've had some success using "Dial-A-Fix". It's a little free application that uses a point and click interface to repair a number of common windows problems. If I recall correctly, I originally learned about it on this forum.

Here's one place to get it.
