Solved: windows media player 12

    Is there any way to stop wmp in windows 7 from constantly updating?

    Yes. it constantly updates the media player and I end up with doubles and triples of music.

    I'd open up organize, then options, then library. Half way down the page should line reading, "Automatic media information updates for files". Under that is a box, make that is NOT checked.

    Under the same options menu, instead of library go to privacy. Two boxes down, "Update music files by retrieving media info from the internet". Make sure that is NOT checked as well.
