This has been on he a few times I think. But the solutions seem to be no working or don't apply.

When I reboot normally and in safe mode I get "Windows - no disk. Please insert disk
in drive." Since I don't know how to handle it I click cancel three or four times and it disappears. I just started getting it about four hours ago after removing Brave Sentry with SmitfraudFix and Hijackthis! (http://www.experts-exchange.com/Security/Q_21921192.html - the solution page for the Brave Sentry malware) I think it could be related.

Help is appreciated, and here is my HijackThis log:

I would click on the red triangle in your post and ask this thread be moved to the Security section.

DownLoad http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Launch the LSP application, and click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox.

Check all instances of msnetax.dll (and nothing else), and move them to
the "Remove" pane.
Then click Finish.

Restart in safe mode

Now delete c:\windows\system32\msnetax.dll

Download Superantispyware (SAS)

http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

Install it and double-click the icon on your desktop to run it.
· It will ask if you want to update the program definitions, click Yes.
· Under Configuration and Preferences, click the Preferences button.
· Click the Scanning Control tab.
· Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked:
o Close browsers before scanning
o Scan for tracking cookies
o Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
o Please leave the others unchecked.
o Click the Close button to leave the control center screen.
· On the main screen, under Scan for Harmful Software click Scan your computer.
· On the left check C:\Fixed Drive.
· On the right, under Complete Scan, choose Perform Complete Scan.
· Click Next to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
· After the scan is complete a summary box will appear. Click OK.
· Make sure everything in the white box has a check next to it, then click Next.
· It will quarantine what it found and if it asks if you want to reboot, click Yes.
· To retrieve the removal information for me please do the following:
o After reboot, double-click the SUPERAntispyware icon on your desktop.
o Click Preferences. Click the Statistics/Logs tab.
o Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
o It will open in your default text editor (such as Notepad/Wordpad).
o Please highlight everything in the notepad, then right-click and choose copy.
· Click close and close again to exit the program.
· Please paste that information here for me with a new HijackThis log.

Unfortunately once I stopped and removed the process of msnetax.dll it caused a system lock out. I got a BSoD and couldn't run any Safe Modes. So I went to my restore disc (an eMachines disc) and made a back up. I am in the process of moving all sensitive data to an external harddrive (Lost all my installers curiously). I guess you can close this topic and file it under solved/unsolved or whatever. Thank you for your help. I'll use this place next time I need help again.
