Solved: windows problem

    Windows can not access the specifed device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item

    Is this thread really solved, or have you hit the [​IMG] button by mistake?

    If not, can you tell us what exactly is triggering that error message?

    Yes i did hit the solvedbutton by mistake.
    The message " windows cannot" comes on anytime i try to access almost anything. for example windowes side bar, games . anything windows controls. Why this happended i do not know. there is nothing i know of that caused this.

    Try THIS.

    Save the .reg file to your desktop. Double-click it to merge it to the registry.

    Restart the computer.

    If the fix only opens as a text file (in Notepad), right-click the file (before opening it) and select Open With > Choose Program... Then, select the Registry Editor.

    If the Registry Editor is not in the list, browse to C:\WINDOWS and select regedit.
