When we turn on an XP SP2 PC in our organization we get a balloon nag that says the computer may be at risk because auto updates is turned off. We do not want to turn on auto updates but there seems to be no way to turn off this nag. Any suggestions anyone?

Go in to control panel to security center and select change the way security center alerts me or whatever it is and uncheck them all

Disable Automatic Updates Notifications
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center
"UpdatesDisableNotify"=dword:00000001
This is a registry edit, if you don't know anything about the registry, don't use it.

Does the same thing as the above, just don't have to worry about the registry. But if you have tohe inkling, learn to use the registry. It is way worth it.
