    Ok, this past week whenever i turn my computer off it installs an update form Microsoft. When i go to add or remove programs, it doesn't appear that the update was installed. So for some reason, this update cannot install.

    Thanks for any help.

    Try turning off your anti-virus and teatimer in spybot and then go get the update thru windows update and if it installs ok then reboot the computer and hopefully you will be all set.

    Please do the following:

    Please download this from Microsoft and run it on your computer
    Filename = WGADiag2.exe
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

    Press "Copy to clipboard" and then you can paste to Wordpad and post to this thread

    Ok the system is legal so that eliminates that.

    You say that you went to the web site and downloaded the validation tool. Did you go to Windows Update thru internet explorer and download thru there?

    I think the next best thing to do is go thru Microsoft for this, the link below will start it out and if you are asked to email to Microsoft please do it with all of the information supplied that is asked for. they are going to get back to you it may take a few days but they are good.

    Windows Update Troubleshooter
    http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/

    Please use internet explorer for this.
