    My Situation
    ==========
    I am a retired Oracle Database Administrator certified in 9i and 10g. Did this for 20 years. Am currently working as a volunteer for a volunteer organization called ACCESS
    (http://www.access-nl.org/about_us/index.htm)
    My function is to maintain their network of 10 computers connected using Windows Workgroups under Windows XP Profressional. In this area I have very limited experience but enjoy acquiring the necessary skills.

    My Question
    ==========
    Can anyone point me to a good website or well-written book that will teach me about
    1. Installing Windows and configuring Windows Workgroups
    2. Adding a computer to the system
    3. Networking in this context in general.

    Thanks for your help.

    what comes up when you put xp peer to peer networking into google?

    "Windows XP [Home or Pro] Edition" by David Pogue provides a good grounding in Windows XP. This forum and the Networking forum provide good followup information and trouble shooting procedures.

    Started? Heck, the Networking forum alone has kept me busy for 4 years and counting! :)

    Seriously, you're welcome, and I'm glad we could offer a variety of resources. When you are ready you can mark this "Solved" using the button at the upper left of your first post. Happy reading!
