    Windows XP SP1

I am working on the neighbor's daughters computer. Her kids are now away from home so she dicided to finally get it going again. Her daughters really messed it up for her. Anyway it is a Windows XP SP1

I ran adware and caught 1357 items--cleaned them
spybot caught 67 cleaned all but 4
    put spyblaster on
    scriptdefender
    IE-SPYAD
    BHHijackblaster
She has norton and it caught I beleive it was 69 virues recommended deleting them so I did.
    ran cleanup in safe mode
deleted all temp files and cookies and history right before I ran it but thought it was a good idea to run it anyway.
    I put on spyguard
Ewido I run it but there is something on it called adsoft that must have 100s if not 1000s of infections. I can't get them all removed. It starts with aksoft and at the end of the address is like a/a and it goes through the whole alphabit and then goes to a/b and the the whole alphabit and then a/c/ and the whole alphabit I am sure you get my drift I don't know if I should keep deleteing them or not. I will give you the name of some of the stuff that was the worst like elite toolbar and , admilli servicem AproposMedia,DelfinMedia, Downloadwave.SED, Downloaderware, DyFuCa, Elitum.EliteBar,eZula,, Huntbar, IBIS Toolbar, LSA, n-Case, NetworkEssentials.Hopper, Network.SEARCH.EXE, Network Essentials.SmartPops, NicTech Networks, Pwopleonpage, SearchMiracle, Shopathome, Startpage-AP, SurfsideKick, Tango, TargetSaver, VMS-Server, VX2/f That was just Spybot. anyway I know I got alot off but I know there is also alot to do. I took alot out of HIjack log but only the stuff that I new had to go. When I did the cleanup I also did the Internet>Options>Programs> Reset Web Settings. I don't know what to do about Ewido and the rest of the hijack log and basically, I need some help now, I am kind of stuck on what to do. Can you help? Thought I would put a couple of HJT Logs right now in case you wanted to look at them, The 1st one is from safe mode and the second one is from normal mode.

    Hi xfile :)

    Get the LSP Fix: http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Launch the application, and click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox.

Check all instances of calsp.dll (and nothing else), and move them to
    the "Remove" pane.
    Then click Finish.

Boot into Safe Mode (start tapping the F8 key at Startup, before the Windows logo screen)

Find and delete this file: c:\windows\system32\calsp.dll

    Reboot.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

    http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
    http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Read and Accept the agreement. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log.

Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

    hi,

firstly i would suggest u disable system restore and make sure u delete all backups created by it. once u done that i would reccon u get webroot spysweeper version 4 and update it and scan for adware and spyware and malware. spysweeper should do the job that adaware abd spybot are unable to do.

now wven after doign so if u are unsatisfied with the system, i suggest u simply format and re-install windows.

Reformatting seems drastic in this case. I've seen logs far worse than this one.

I am running the L2mfix and did what you said but instead of coming up with the notepad file it came up with a box that says

    C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
    C:\windows\system32\AutoExec.NT
The system file is not suitable for running MS=DOS and microsoft windows application.Choose close to herminate the application.
has two options close or ignore
should I ignore?? Just want to make sure

Should I click ignore first and see if it is a problem?

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log.

Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new Hijack This log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

L2mfix was still open from when I did #1 so I just did #2 and pressed any key and it rebooted but I have not recieved another report from notepad. Will it take awhile or do I need to do it again?

Did the desktop and icons appear then disappear?

I didn't see them disappear, they appeared and are still there, should I have closed the program first and then reopened the L2mfix or does that not make a difference? Does the report pop up opened like the first one did?
