Everytime I open Excel, MSWord, etc., I get the "Start" or "Help" pane on the right hand side. Annoying.

What can I do to stop this intrusion? I currently have to "X" the pane to get rid of it.

Thanks!

I believe you'll be talking about the TASK pane. :)
Depending on your version of Office (in the business apps area, we don't often care what version of Windows, but it's nice to provide that too), try this in Word:

Down at the bottom of the taskpane, there's a checkbox that says "Show at Startup". Just uncheck it.

Hee hee. Someone once told me:

Even a blind monkey gets a banana once in a while!

Um...that would be me.

Using MSWord2003, WinXP. The check is in "Tools", "Options".

Again, Thanks!

How do I mark this resolved?
