Solved: Without Permission!!!!

    Hiya

    Trying to remember how to reset the settings for download files off the internet

    Basically i selected a file to download and the file started downloading without asking me where to save it!!!

    I dont recall ever changing any settings but whatever!

    Anyone assist?

    Im not using Firefox, im using XP Internet Explorer

    You probably have Windows download manager installed and it is saving files to desktop by default if you haven't been involved. If you wish to remove it, then go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Add-Remove programmes and look for windows download manager - left click and uninstall.

    Okay then - hopefully equally simple - let's hope it works for you....
    In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then Internet Options.
    In the Internet Options dialog box, from the Security tab, select the Internet zone, and then click Custom level... .
    Scroll down to "Downloads". Under "Automatic prompting for file downloads", select Enable.
