When I try to use Word 2007 on Vista it keeps crashing on me. I can type for a little while then it locks up on me.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Do you have any other Office 2007 product like Excel or Outlook.

If you type some data in Excel or try creating a email message in Outlook does it also lockup?

Is this a fresh install of office or did you have 2003 installed already and upgraded?

I have the ultimate verison of Office 2007 so I have everything installed. I dont use Outlook though.

Everything else works just fine. Word is the only thing that crashes on me.

I had a trial version on my laptop because it came with it when I bought the laptop but I uninstalled it before I installed my version of Office. Word worked just fine last night now it doesnt want to work at all.

Try running word without addins:

Click Start and in the Start Search field type: winword.exe /a and hit enter

I solved the issue:

Start...Run... type in regedit

Then follow the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Office/12.0/Word

Then change the folder called 'data' to 'olddata'
Then change the folder called 'options' to 'oldoptions'

When you open up Word again it creates new files to replace the old
