Did Microsoft finally give the XBOX360 an internet browser (IE10) and is available to all XBOX360s, or just the new ones?

I have an older XBox 360 (6 or so years old) and I have an option for IE, but I'm not currently a gold member so am unable to use it.

I think it's available if you update the Xbox

Last dashboard update added IE I think. It did download to my console, but as I said, when I launch the app is says I need to be a gold member.

Just read through an IGN post about it.. seems it can only stream video from youtube. o_O So from what I read, you can surf the web but not stream videos from other places... yet.

If I get XBL gold in the near future I'll test it out. :D

Well as long as the basic functionality (web traffic) is working fine, then we should be good :)

I got XBL Gold again today, tried IE out a bit. was able to log into ebay, amazon loaded fine. Cartoon network didn't load completely, gave a requires flash error. nerdkungfu.com (tee shirt site), loaded fine.

So yeah, basic web surfing seems pretty good.

But to confirm it only works with Gold accounts? People without a membership that had IE10 at one point cannot use it?

    I don't know about the IE10 thing.
When I updated my XBox this last time, and IE showed up on the console, I was unable to use it until I got XBL gold.
I don't use IE on any of my computers. :D

Just tried on mine. Won't let me use it without a Gold membership too.

It seems I have a generic free one which must have been what I signed up for when we got our XBox 360.

Looks like it's all Gold now.

    Gold 12 month is $59.99
    Gold 3 month is $24.99
    Gold 1 month is $9.99

And they have Gold Family Pack which is 12 month $99.99

Yeah its usable only on gold now, plus the downside is there is no flash support so no flash games and stuff like that :(

I appreciate the posts. It's something that will help my work here as I'm sure most of our customers are not gold members so thanks! :D

Makes me thankful SONY is not charging to use their browser... :D
