    Hi Guys

Good morning to everyone and hello this is my first post on this forum.

My question is the latest update for XP which is as follows:

Windows Browser update KB976002 this now allows any browser to be downloaded
and used with Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Do i need this update if i already have and use Microsoft Internet Explorer and
Firefox etc. Remembering that this update cannot be removed once installed.

Also, i have download this update to my vista laptop by mistake and now it cannot
be removed even in system restore, again i am already using Microsoft Internet Explorer
and Firefox, so there was know need for the update.

Hello Rainsberger and welcome to TSG

I presume on your Vista computer that you looked in control panel - Add/Remove programs? Along the top of the Add/Remove there is an option to show updates. Putting a tick here will show the latest updates.

    Hi Guys

Many thanks for the replies have been able to sort out my problems with
this update thanks to this very good forum, there is plenty of help on here
that i am going to find very useful in the future.
With regards to the update on my XP desktop i have hidden the brower file,
and although it's on my vista laptop i have moved the desktop short-cut
to another location and it does not bother me anymore.
Thanks again for the help guys.
