Since I installed sp1 on xp home, my computer freezes at random. I could be doing anything when it happens. I know that there is one hotfix included in sp1 that causes this. Prior to sp1, when I uninstalled this hotfix, my freezes stopped. I tried but I cannot remember what this hotfix number is. Does anyone know about this? Compaq and Microsoft have been informed ot this but no response received from them
My machine is a compaq presario 700us with 384 ram.

When the freeze occurs, can you do a ctrl-alt-del to open the Task Manager? If so, does the cpu usage for Explorer show 99% or something very high?
