I used the Windows support setup wizard.

It finished installing the support tools.

I can't find where it was installed to.

I typed in the Run dialog box: Dupfinder.

I received an error message stating it could not find dupfinder.

Any ideas why this isn't working?

    Thanks,

    John

The default location is C:\Program Files\Support Tools\ unless you changed it.
There should also be a program group named Windows Support Tools on the Start Menu under All Programs

The location should have been added to the Path variable. Open a Command Prompt and type set path to see if it's there. The install may not have completed successfully, so you may need to re-install.

I did find support tools in the Program folder.
When I looked at the file names in the folder I did not find dupfinder.

I reloaded the support tools and dupfinder was in the folder.

Where will I find a description of the various support tools listed there?

    Thanks for your help.

There is a link to the Support Tools help file in the Program Group.
Start | All Programs | Windows Support Tools > Support Tools Help

The help file itself should have been installed to Windows\Help

Re-Install the Support Tools but this time select Complete installation
typical installation does not install dupfinder, but it is installed if you choose the complete installation ;)

The complete installation fixed the problem, Jack.

I was able to find the HELP files for the support tools, Jerry.

    Thanks for your help.

    This solves my problems.

I am not conversant re 'dupfinder.' However, if it finds duplicate files and allows removing one or more of them, DON"T. There are dup files that are required by the system.
