I am going to upgrade my current OS and am wondering which direction to go.

My current system is :

Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3, 32 bit
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 7850 Dual-Core Processor, x86 Family 16 Model 2 Stepping 3
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 3582 Mb
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X300/X550/X1050 Series, 128 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 12467 MB, Free - 5897 MB; D: Total - 12891 MB, Free - 6853 MB; E: Total - 12930 MB, Free - 3674 MB; F: Total - 12609 MB, Free - 6782 MB; G: Total - 12522 MB, Free - 3000 MB; H: Total - 13322 MB, Free - 11070 MB; I: Total - 12906 MB, Free - 3964 MB; J: Total - 41331 MB, Free - 2795 MB;
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC., M2N32-SLI DELUXE

I am not sure if I have expansion slots or room for more RAM.

We use the cpu for basic home usage plus some streaming (netflix, etc.) and home-office applications...not too much gaming but I would like to have that option in the future. As you can see I have partitioned the HDD into separate drives for organizing purposes (as a result of someone's advice). I don't want to break the bank for this upgrade if at all possible. Thanks in advance for your help...

That 127.86 GB capacity hard drive is divided into these partitions:

C: 12.17 GB
D: 12.58 GB
E: 12.62 GB
F: 12.31 GB
G: 12.22 GB
H: 13.00 GB
I: 12.60 GB
J: 40.36 GB

Dividing it into so many small partitions was bad advice.

Which partition was Windows XP installed in?

---------------------------------------------------------

Its ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard has 4 color-coded memory slots and supports up to 8 GB(2 GB X 4) of DDR2 RAM.

It appears to have 4 GB of RAM, so there's an option to add more RAM if you decide to install Windows 7 64-bit.

It has an ATI chip-based graphics card which appears to be supported by Windows 7.

Its AMD processor supports Windows 64-bit.

Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit or 64-bit, depending on whether you stick with 4 GB of RAM or increase it to 8 GB of RAM, is what I would install.
